Shape Study
This was my first attempt at computer graphics back in Fall 2004 at Parkland College under the instruction of Professor David Bock. The goal was to create a simple piece of art, like something that would appear in a museum perhaps, using only primitive polygonal shapes.
I thought it would be interesting to create a Möbius strip for two reasons. I thought the outcome would be visually interesting and I wanted to create something that would require manual manipulation of a primitive shape (in this case, a cylinder).
Although it might not be obvious immediately, if you follow the spheres around the outside of the object from smallest sphere to the largest, the geometrical peculiarity of the Möbius strip, its one-sidedness, is highlighted.
